Katie Buchheit, Early Interventionist, graduated from University of Houston in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Minor in Human Development & Family Studies. Katie went on to graduate from Texas State University in 2021 with a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation. After grad school, she spent close to 3 years in Alaska working as a Recreation Therapist, providing children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities opportunities to engage in sports, recreation, and leisure activities. Through her work as an ABA therapist and Recreation Therapist, Katie has realized the importance of early intervention and creating ways to set kids up for success early on so they can develop into the best version of themselves that they can be. I believe that children learn and grow best through FUN and PLAY. I think a key part to this is evaluating the needs of each child and adapting their environment accordingly all while eliminating barriers and fostering growth.
